About 40 construction workers in Uttarkashi are trapped by debris after a tunnel they were building collapsed on Sunday morning. The tunnel, which is part of the controversialb Char Dham all-weather road project, was hit by debris from a nearby landslide. Its collapse cut off the air supply of the trapped workers. Efforts to evacuate them are underway and rescuers have been able to provide them with food, water and oxygen.
