An Airbus A340 was grounded in the French airport of Vatry, where it landed to refuel en route from Dubai to Nicaragua, after a tipoff that the flight was being used for human trafficking. French judges interviewed 303 Indian passengers on board. Of them, 11 are unaccompanied minors and 10 have sought asylum in France. Nicaragua is a popular destination for some migrants planning to trek to the US. The Hindu reports that the French have closed the investigation due to procedural irregularities. The plane finally departed for Mumbai on Monday evening.
Three civilians picked up by the Army the day after four servicemen were killed in an ambush were likely tortured to death, according to their families, who were asked to pick up their bodies from a military camp.
