Adding to his list of achievements unattempted and unimagined for 60 years, Narendra Modi has become the first Indian PM to fly in the Tejas and pose for photo ops, while the last rites of a young soldier killed in action in Kashmir were being conducted in the same city, a few miles away. As Banksy said, “Some pictures don’t need a caption.” Quite emblematic of where we are as a nation.

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, or CERT-In, has been exempted from the purview of the Right to Information Act, 2005. The national cyber security agency operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Experts have criticised its investigations of major data breaches for lack of transparency. This is the first time in seven years that an agency has been exempted
