The gloves are off and there is no telling how seriously Indo-Canadian relations will be damaged before the dust settles. India this evening announced it was recalling its high commissioner and other diplomats and officials named as “persons of interest” by Canadian investigators probing the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
As surely as night follows day, India is likely to ask Canada to recall its high commissioner and an equal number of diplomats, which means the work of the two high commissions will grind to a standstill.
