The Opposition today tore into the Budget during the debate in Parliament. The Trinamool Congress’s Abhishek Banerjee, in particular, succeeded in getting under the BJP’s skin.
So now it is clear that the chief ministers of almost all opposition-ruled states will boycott the meeting of the central think-tank NITI Aayog – scheduled to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday – as a mark of protest against a Union Budget which they feel has been anti-federalism and “extremely discriminatory”
