Voter turnout in the Delhi assembly election was 57.7% as of 5 pm, an hour before polls were to close, the Election Commission said. Provisional data put out by the EC says the Mustafabad seat recorded the highest ‘turnout trend’ at 66.68%, while Karol Bagh polled the lowest at 47.4%. Meanwhile, the Milkipur, Uttar Pradesh and Erode (East), Tamil Nadu seats that saw by-elections today saw turnouts of 65.25% and 64.02% respectively as of 5 pm. The Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the BJP, the Pattali Makkal Katchi and the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam of the later actor-politician Vijayakanth have stayed out of the Erode (East) bypoll.
