It’s coming up to 24 hours since Canadian deputy foreign minister David Morrison testified before a parliamentary committee in Ottawa that his government believes Indian Union home minister Amit Shah was involved in directing a campaign of violent attacks including murders against Canadian Sikhs. And yet the Indian government has not seen fit to issue a denial or reaction. It is possible the delay is due to the fact that the latest Canadian statement lands a direct punch on the second most powerful person in India and should lead to a rupture in diplomatic ties – if the charge is really as baseless as the Modi government has led Indians to believe. But
