An official Indian delegation headed by a senior diplomat is in Kabul. It will meet senior members of the Taliban and discuss humanitarian assistance. The Ministry of External Affairs’ press release said the purpose was “to oversee the delivery operations of India’s humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.” This is the first such public visit by Indian government officials to Kabul since the Taliban took over Afghanistan last year.

Vikas Kumar, manager of the Kulgam branch of Elaqahi Dehati Bank in Kashmir, was shot dead by suspected militants in Arreh Mohanpora village of the district today morning. A resident of Rajasthan, he was fired upon by militants while he was on duty.
