Union law minister Arjun Ram Meghwal today introduced the two ‘one nation, one election’ Bills, which seek to enable simultaneous elections to parliament and the state and Union territory assemblies, in the Lok Sabha, where in a division of votes 269 legislators voted to support it as opposed to 198 against, the Indian Express reports. The opposition was vocal in its opposition to the Bills.
