India’s opposition is poised to take on a more significant role in Parliament. Rahul Gandhi, Member of Parliament from Rae Bareli and a prominent Congress leader, has been appointed Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament, following a strategic meeting with key INDIA bloc leaders. This appointment fills a post that has been vacant for a decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure.
