Police in Manipur are looking for those who fired bullets at a car in Churachandpur yesterday morning, killing its three passengers – a senior official of the Kuki National Army militant group and his two bodyguards – as well as an elderly woman who happened to be at the scene then. The KNA is one of the Kuki militant groups that had signed a suspension of operations agreement with the Union and Manipur governments in 2008. The United Kuki National Army group has reportedly claimed responsibility for yesterday's shooting.
